He was born June 24, 1938 in Luzerne, PA, the son of the late Fred Layaou and Frances Carr Layaou. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife: Eileen Finnegan Layaou; two sons: John Mark Layaou and Michael Andrew Layaou and two sisters.
Roger honorably served his country in the Army for 12 years. He graduated from Andersonville Baptist Seminary with Doctorate of Pastoral Counseling and served as a Pastor for over 50 years, most recently at Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Spivey’s Corner. He was also the host of “The Gospel of Grace Counseling Hour” on WCKB, Dunn, NC.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Mary Elizabeth Layaou and Suzie Spearman and husband Charles; sons: Timothy Steven Layaou, Daniel Benjamin Layaou and wife Nicole and Joshua David Layaou; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother: Fred Layaou and wife Mamie and numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 1PM, Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home, 401 W Cumberland St, Dunn, NC 28334, with the memorial service at 2PM.
