Polly Barefoot Jackson

Mrs. Polly Barefoot Jackson, age 81 of Dunn died Friday, June 16, 2023 at her home.

Polly was born April 25, 1942 in Johnston County the daughter of the late Allen Lee Barefoot and Martha Alice Johnson Barefoot and is preceded in death by her husband Harvey P. Jackson. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Helen B. Tanner and Martha B. Harr.

Polly worked at Ben Jolie Garment Manufacturing for 15 years, she left there to help her husband, run Harvey Jackson Plumbing Heating and Air. After closing the business she spent 13 years working at Walmart as a greeter. She loved working at Walmart meeting new friends and seeing old ones. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people.

Polly came from a large family where she learned to work hard and stay busy. She did just that during her lifetime. She was a homemaker and loved doing for her family.

Her mother was her inspiration showing her how to handle life on a daily basis. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. When her grandchildren were born that was the highlight of her life. She enjoyed having them around and spending time with them.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

She is survived by: Her Daughter: Wanda Jackson of Dunn, NC.

Grandchildren: Stuart C. Padgett & (Friend) Amanda Branda and Meredith A. Padgett.

Sisters: Hazel B. Tart and Peggy B. Gainey.

Brothers: Gale, Gary and Tony Barefoot

Several Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday Evening, June 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
