Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers James Cook and Roy Reeves, his sister Maggie Burnette, and his grandson Jonathon Upchurch.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years Pamela Annette Cook; his daughter Patricia Upchurch of Newton Grove, NC; his sons Simon Upchurch (wife Lynn) of Clinton, NC, Louis Stone (fiancé Marie) of Goldsboro, NC, and Roy Monds (wife Traci) of Dunn, NC; grandsons Alan McLamb (wife Shannon) of Faison, NC, and Nathan Morrison (fiancé Wanda) of Clinton, NC; great-grandchildren Timothy Morrison, Brody Morrison, Noah Morrison, Ira Morrison, and Lola McLamb; sisters Marie Tart (husband Doug) of Dunn, NC, and Annie Lou Darden (husband Gerald) of Dunn, NC; and a brother, Robert Cook, of Linden, NC
Wayne had many interests and hobbies; he loved to fish and he enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers, and he also liked his Westerns such as Gunsmoke, with his favorite movie being Tombstone. He retired from Tart Salvage Yard after many years. Wayne also loved to joke and put a smile on your face, but above all, he loved his family and the Lord.
The Visitation for Wayne will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, NC. The Service will be at 1 PM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home in the Chapel. A burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC.
