Mrs. Beth S. Hawley, 78, of the Plain View community died peacefully at her home with her family by her side Monday evening, July 28. She was born January 7, 1936, daughter of the late Ammie Stone and Annas Warren Stone. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Kirtley. Mrs. Hawley was a member of Lee’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and friends and traveling. She was a devoted wife for 62 years and a wonderful mother and grandmother. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 1at 3:00 P.M. at Lee’s Chapel OFWB Church with Rev. Phillip Boykin and Rev. Brad Williamson officiating. Entombment will follow in Lee’s Chapel-Williford Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Bob Hawley, one son, Ricky Hawley and wife Wendy and one daughter, Debby Chiarella and husband Frank all of PlainView, one granddaughter, Christy Hawley and fiancé Matthew Smith of Clayton and one brother, Warren Stone of Plain View. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and other times at the home.
