Wade, NC Mr. Lennie Ray Johnson, age 73, of Smithfield Rd., Wade died Wednesday December 17, 2014 at his home. Mr. Johnson was born December 15, 1941 in Garland, NC the son of the late Lennie O. Johnson & Ellie Louise Weaver Johnson and is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Weaver Elmore. Lennie joined the Air Force in 1960 served 4 years and lived in Greeley, Colorado. He joined the Weld County Sheriff's Dept. and attained the rank of Detective Sgt. He met and married Williene M. Miller, and had two sons Brett and Jason. Lennie served as Police Chief of Breckenridge Colorado until he moved to NC due to poor health of his father. He then went to work as a Deputy Sheriff for Cumberland County and also served as Police Chief for the town of Falcon. He retired in 1993 holding the rank of Detective Sgt. Lennie was very active in the Dunn Moose Lodge 827. He served as Governor and held many offices. The highlight of his career was when he attained the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the highest degree possible at the International Conference at Mooseheart, Ill. May of 2006. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Dunn with Rev. Lynn McLaurin officiating. He is survived by: His Wife: Willene Miller Johnson of the home. 2 Sons: Brett C. Johnson & wife Monique of Falcon, NC and Jason C. Johnson of the home. A Daughter: Dena Rae Davenport of Colorado. A Step-Son: Lynn Johnson of Colorado Grandchildren: Taylor Marie & Korirae Marissa both of Falcon, NC, Raejean Clarkson of Colorado Great Grandchildren: Raine, Seth & Silas Clarkson of Colorado Niece: Delores Norris & Family Nephew: Randy Elmore & Family Extended Family: Shannon Capps & Billy Lucas The Family will receive friends Saturday Dec. 20,2014 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at the Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
