Miss Kimberleigh Michelle Medlin, age 24, of Roseboro, North Carolina departed this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her home. Kimberleigh was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on August 9, 1993 the daughter of Larry Wayne Medlin Jr. and Candy Michelle Tart Medlin.
"I am a woman of strength, nothing can break my spirit! I am wild. I am free. I am a warrior of the light! I am me." - Kimberleigh Michelle Medlin
The small excerpt taken from a poem that Kimberleigh wrote tells a lot about the free spirited young lady that she was. She was as solid as a rock on the outside; while, on the inside, she was tender, caring and always willing to lend a helping hand to others. She exerted great strength in the midst of life's obstacles and struggles facing them without fear. She was full of life and lived hers with no limits. She was happy, outgoing, and loyal and there was never a dull moment when she was in the room. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her daddy. When alone, she enjoyed her own company, writing beautiful poetry.
Kim loved her family above all else and was always willing to stand up for what she loved. Her son, Alexander Matthew Cook, was the sun that lit up her world and she cherished being a devoted mother to him.
Among the other things that Kim enjoyed in this life, were horses, it makes perfect sense that she did, as she lived her life much like the wild horses that we only dream of seeing, beautiful and unwilling to be tamed.
"When God wanted to create the horse, he said to the South Wind, "I want to make a creature of you. Condense." And the wind condensed." - Abdelkader El Djezairi
We may rest easy, knowing that where that same wind blows, there, Kimberleigh will be. Free, wild, and untamed.
Left behind to honor Kim's legacy are the following members of her family: Father: Larry Wayne Medlin Jr. of Erwin; Mother: Candie Michelle Tart Medlin; Son: Alexander Matthew Cook; Brother: John Wesley Medlin II and wife Catherine of Spring Hope; Grandparents: Frankie and Linda Tyndall of Dunn; Bobby and Claudia Tart of Spivies Corner and Deloris and Anderson Gregory Gill of Fayetteville; "Aintcha Mama": Tonya Tart.
