Joyce M. Norris, age 80, of Old Stage Road in Erwin, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at her home. She was born in Harnett County on April 19, 1940 to the late Rodney Tadlock and the late Louise Barefoot Tadlock. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Earl Norris; Infant Son: Gary Jackson Norris and Son-In-Law: Mark Anthony Parrish. Joyce was the kind of person who could light up a room with that great big smile and the sparkle in her baby blue eyes. She was all the time joking around and cutting up, she could really make you laugh. She was a very social person, loving to spend all her time with her family especially the grandchildren and with her many friends. Joyce spent many hours at the Dunn Senior Center, visiting with those friends! If she wasn’t at home or hanging out at Dunn Senior Center then you knew right where to find her, Wal-Mart! She loved to do her little craft projects and sit and listen to her gospel music.
Joyce leaves behind to honor her legacy, her children: Judy Parrish of Coats, Ronald Norris of Broadway, Deanna Norris of Erwin and Michael Norris of Kipling; grandchildren: Josh Parrish, Jonas Parrish and wife Candice, Simon Parrish and wife Crystal, Lenore McLamb, Thomas McLamb and wife Savannah, Aaron Travis Maxwell, Samantha Maxwell, Jeremy Penny and Brandy Penny; great-grandchildren: Kemma Parrish, Tessa Parrish, James McLamb, Tripp McLamb, Dylan Maxwell and Blake Maxwell; brother: David Tadlock of Erwin; Sister: Frances Norris Wood of Erwin; Sister-In-Law: Jeanette Butts and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
You are cordially invited to a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home. Due to current health concerns, the family will not be present, but you are encouraged to come and pay your respects.
A funeral service will be privately held with Rev. Johnny Haney and Rev. Tim Cowen presiding. She will be laid to rest in Hodges Chapel Church Cemetery with Josh Parrish, Jonas Parrish, Simon Parrish, Thomas McLamb, Jr., Brian Hartman and Jeremy Penny serving as pallbearers.
