She was preceded in death by her one infant son, Timothy Rowland; parents, Charlie M. Cottle and Clara Winsette Cottle; her brothers William, James, Harold, Charles, Peanut and Herman; Sisters Roberta Vann, Millie Brown and Clara Mae Hamilton.
Left to cherish her memory is son Rodney W. Rowland (Wife Patty), her grandchildren William James and Daniel Wayne Rowland; her brother Melvin Cottle; her sister Doris Williams and many nieces and nephews.
Joan worked many years at Erwin Mills before her retirement.
There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery on Red Hill Church Road in Erwin.
