Jerry Wayne “Rooster” Autry, age 56 of Dunn, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.
Jerry was born on January 21, 1965 in Harnett County and is the son of Jerry O’Neal Autry and Kay Avery Autry.
Jerry was a beloved son, brother and uncle, family was very important to him. He always had something to say to make people laugh. If you needed him he would drop what he was doing and walk over and help you, if you needed lifting up he would put a smile on your face.
Jerry was a master builder, brick mason and carpenter. He loved to build things and was proud of every job he had done. He had mastered the art laying brick and as well as the building part of a job. He was a musician and played guitar in a band. That is where he got the nickname “Rooster.”
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 12:30 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.
Other than his parents, he is survived by: Sisters: Tina A. Crane, Timi Jo Addison & (husband) Donald and LaWanda K. Autry & Ronald all of Dunn, NC.
Nephews: Dustin Ivey & (wife) Madison of Erwin, NC; Anthony Crane of Dunn, NC and Jamie Gonzalaz of Dunn, NC. Nieces: Autri K. Parrish & (husband) Kyle of Godwin, NC and Stefanie Gonzalaz of Dunn, NC. Many Great Nephews and Cousins.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 3, 2021 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn. One hour prior to the service.
Due to covid mask are required in the funeral home.
