James Leary Autry

Mr. Autry was born June 24, 1947 in Harnett County the son of the late Moses Autry and Gladys Parnell Autry and is preceded in death by his Step-Mother, Naomi Autry.

He is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Isaiah Tannehill, brothers, Charles Autry, Dallas Autry and Moses Autry, Jr.

James worked at Erwin Mills for over 30 years and then he worked for Esterline Corp for 3 plus years before retiring. He didn’t stop working he loved to work on lawnmowers and tinker around the house and in the yard.

He was a family man and loved his family very much.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Baber officiating.

He is survived by: His Wife of 54 years: Darlene F. Autry of the home.

His Daughter: Marsha Tannehill of Linden, NC.

Grandchildren: Suede, River and Silver Tannehill

A Brother: Ronald “Buck” Autry and (wife) Linda of Lillington, N.C.

A Sister: Janice Capps of Linden, NC.

Sister-in-Laws: Olivia Miller and (husband) Larry of Raleigh, NC; Nancy Giles of Angier, NC; Linda Honeycutt of Angier, NC; Garlene Autry of Erwin, NC and Carolyn Autry of Linden, NC.

Several Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, prior to the service.

The family wants to express a heartfelt thank you to everyone who brought food, sent a card, came by or called, and prayed for them during this time.
