Grace Ivey Langdon

Grace Ivey Langdon of Dunn passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Cornerstone Healthcare, being 89 years of age. She was born in Harnett County, North Carolina on September 25, 1928 to the late Eldridge Harold Ivey and the late Volena Stewart Ivey. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Hubert Blackman Coats; second husband: Richard Wade Langdon; two brother: Robert Ivey and Jessie Leonard Ivey and three sisters: Velma Ivey, Pauline Ivey and Madeline Ivey. Grace loved to spend time tending to her flowers and fishing. She truly loved to be with her family.

Grace leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons: Hubert Eldridge Coats and wife Olease of Godwin and Jimmy Odell Coats and wife Nell of Dunn; three daughters: Patsy Inez Strickland and husband Johnny of Dunn, Cathy Coats Emery and husband Jeff of Roseboro and Rebecca Coats of Dunn; three stepsons: Randy Langdon and wife Pat of Georgia, Larry Langdon and wife Sherry of Washington State and Ricky Langdon of Greensboro; one brother: Linwood Ivey and wife Brenda of Dunn; three sisters: Doris Moore of Wade, Willa Dean Bullard and husband Milton of Dunn and Lena Ruth Edwards and husband James of Dunn; thirteen grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren also survive.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home and at other times at her home, 350 Fred Tew Road, Dunn, NC 28334.

A funeral service to commemorate the life of Grace Ivey Langdon will be conducted on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome Pope officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Harnett Devotional Garden with Jordyn Coats, Toni Cozart, Sherry Dunn, Lisa Brown, Kenneth Coats, Michael Dunn, Scott Jones, Bobbie Jackson, Maria Moore, Nina Percell, Paula Faircloth, Cynthia Smith and Heather Williams serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to American Alzheimer's Association , 3739 National Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612 or to Community Hospice 400 East H Street, Erwin, NC 28339.
