Gloria Dare Norris

Gloria was born on May 29, 1943 to the late Jerry Norman Coats and Alice May Faircloth Coats in Harnett County, NC.

Seven siblings also preceded her in death.

On April 1, 1961, Gloria married Roy Willis Norris celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary this past April.

Gloria loved her family always putting their needs before her own. She was a homebody looking forward to family gatherings smothering them in her unconditional love. Gloria had the most beautiful spirit inside and out

Gloria loved her jewelry, stones of any kind especially diamonds. She loved trinkets and whatnots particularly angels. Gloria loved her flowers with a special love for peonies.

She was a strong admirer of Southern Gospel Music. Gloria never missed worshiping at home watching Jimmy Swaggart. Gloria was a devoted nurse’s assistant caring, for patients as if they were her own family.

Roy was that never fading sparkle in her eyes. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was her life, as everyone knew it!

Gloria touched the hearts of many and her smile will carry on with all those she met.

Gloria, is survived by her husband Roy Norris, of the home; two daughters, Beverly Avery, and her husband Oliver, of Erwin, NC and Angela Hall, and husband Bruce, of Dunn, NC; one son, Stanley Norris, and wife Trina, of Dunn, NC; eight grandchildren, Troy Carter, Chasen Carter, Ashley Sigmon, Charity Sigmon, Caleb Sigmon, Jonathan Sigmon, and wife Jacquelyn, Travis Norris, and wife Brianna, and Becky Wimberly, and husband Tony; three step-grandchildren, Garrett Poole, and wife Kara Ashley Gary, and husband Warren and Tiffany Harvell, and husband, Gary McLeod; many great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm, in Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hodges Chapel Church Cemetery.
