Evelyn Barefoot Holder

Mrs. Holder was born on August 19, 1957 in Harnett County, NC to the late John J. Barefoot and Elizabeth Barefoot.

Evelyn loved her grandchildren, or anyone’s “youngins”. Family was the utmost important to her. She loved flowers and working in her yard. Evelyn’s greatest passion was providing care for the elderly. Being a CNA with that passion allowed her the opportunity of showing that through her patients.

A daughter Karen Nunnery recently preceded Evelyn in death. She was one of eight siblings: a sister, Kathy Barefoot: five brothers, Johnny Barefoot, Lloyd Barefoot, Marvin Barefoot, Terry Barefoot, and Carl Barefoot also preceded Evelyn in death.

She is survived by her husband James David Holder, of the home: two daughters, Beth Stephens, and husband James, of Broadway, NC, and Becky Blount, and husband Jarvis, of Erwin, NC: two sons, David Wayne Nunnery, Jr., of Fayetteville, NC, and Jeremy Holder, and fiancée, Melanie of Spring Lake, NC: a sister Diana Nunnery, of Fayetteville, NC: nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

On Wednesday December 20, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. the family will receive friends at Sansom Community Church.

A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sansom Community Church with Rev. Jerome Pope officiating.
