He was born on October 19, 1951, in Wake County, NC to the late Thomas Wilson Wood and Dorothy Tucker Wood.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War receiving numerous medals and commendations. He was a self-employed floor covering installer.
He was preceded in death by a sister Estelle and a brother Stanley.
He is survived by one son, Cody Carson Wood, and wife Felicia Nicole Wood, of Erwin, NC; one grandson, Levi Wood and one granddaughter, Khloe Wood; siblings, Judy, Barbara, Brenda, Patricia, Teresa, Cecil, and Alfred.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Patriot Guard Riders.
Concluding the visitation military honors will be rendered by the honor guard from Fort Bragg.
