Donald Bruce Johnson

Dunn, NC Mr. Donald Bruce Johnson, age 71, of Lane Rd., Dunn died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Duke Medical Center. Mr. Johnson was born in Harnett County on September 9, 1945 the son of the late Casper Johnson & Jessie Hodges Johnson and is preceded in death by a brother William David Johnson and sisters, Peggy Sue Torbert & Jenny Johnson Carver. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong member of Grove Presbyterian Church serving in many capacities within the church. He served 6 years in the N.C. National Guard and was a member of The American Legion Post 59 in Dunn serving as a Commander and holding other offices through the years. Mr. Johnson was very passionate when it came to his church, his family and The American Legion. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife: Jo H. Johnson of the home. Brothers: Marvin Earl Johnson & (wife) Kay of Dunn, NC and Brent Johnson & (wife) Janet of Dunn, NC. Sisters: Jo Ann Hodges & (husband) Gene of Fayetteville, NC.Carolyn J. Stone & (husband) Ray of Dunn, NC and Connie J. Webb & (husband) Skip of Dunn, NC. Sisters-in-Law: Charlene Johnson of Palatka, Fl.; Priscilla H. Neighbors & (husband) George of Dunn, NC.Numerous Nieces and Nephews.The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at Grove Presbyterian Church. One hour prior to the service, and at other times at the Cap & Jessie Johnson Homeplace, 1490 Lane Rd., Dunn, NC.
