He was born on January 6, 1947 in Greensboro, NC to the late Rev. Harry “H.J.” Marley and Viola Marley.
Danny was a proud veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He received several medals and a commendation to include the Navy Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Danny loved listening to the Gaither’s music. He owned and operated his own painting business for many years and served at Falcon Children’s Home before retirement. He was a hard worker and loving provider, for his family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cathy Marley and daughter, Wendy Marley.
Danny is survived by, three sons, Shane Marley, and wife Jennifer Marley, of Panama City, FL, Daniel Marley, and wife Shelley Marley, of Angier, NC, Ben Marley, of Godwin, NC; a daughter, Hannah Kadugyed and husband Levi Kadugyed, of Fort Drum, NY.
Seven grandchildren, also survive him Emma Marley, of Panama City, FL, Ava Marley, of Panama City, FL, Taylor Marley, of Middlesex, NC, Alexandria Clayton, of Muncy, PA, Wyatt Marley, of Angier, NC, Nikolai Kadugyed, of Fort Drum, NY, London Kadugyed, of Fort Drum, NY; and a great-grandson, Xander Clayton, of Angier, NC.
Two brothers, Rev. Doyle Marley, and wife Sherrill, of Mayodan, NC, and Ronnie Marley and wife Wanna, of Madison, NC, also survive Danny.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, family and friends will gather at Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church 8443 Fayetteville Rd, Falcon, NC 28342 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Casey Strickland and Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel Shane Marley, officiating.
Services to conclude at Falcon Memorial Cemetery with the rendering of military honors by the United States Navy.
