He was born on March 24, 1952, in Harnett County, North Carolina, to Willa Dean Parrish and the late Cyrus Bowman Carter Sr.
Cyrus enjoyed hunting, fishing, and birdwatching. He will be dearly missed by his friends, family, and community.
He is survived by his mother, Willa Dean Parrish of Erwin, NC; his sister, Cindy Raynor of Newton Grove; his four children, Cyrus Bowman Carter III, Christie Eve Carter, Samuel Adam Carter, and Jonathan Paul Carter; and a dozen grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 12, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place after the service at Devotional Gardens.
