Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Dewey Weaver and Lottie Elizabeth Mitchell Weaver, husband, James Sherrill Elmore, and son, James Randy Elmore, brother, Bobby Leon Weaver, and sister, Lottie Ruth Weaver West.
At the young age of 15 years old Betty met and married her life-long love--her husband of 49 years, James Sherrill Elmore. Betty was a loving and caring wife, Mama, Mema, Grandma and Elmore to her family and was so loved by all who knew her. For years she was a stay at home wife and mother, occasionally keeping children in her home. She had a spicy personality, a wonderful sense of humor and was very peculiar about keeping her house clean and orderly. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially on holidays and sharing her recipes with her grandchildren; always teaching them how to find their way around the kitchen. She lit up a room and the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Elmore McLamb, and husband Tommy, Kathy Elmore Guin, and husband Mitchell, and Tammy Elmore Lee and husband Edward, all of Dunn, NC; sister, Shirley Ann Carroll, of Willow Springs; four grandsons, Steven Ray McLamb, Scott Thomas McLamb and wife Shannon, Alex Taylor Lee, Brandon Wayne Gordon, and husband Trey; two granddaughters, Melissa Elmore Perez, and husband, Edel and Emily Randi Elmore; two step-grandchildren Mitchell Shane Guin and Lori Beth McCray, and husband Erik; three great-grandchildren, Hayley Savannah McLamb, Dawson Rayce McLamb, and Scott Thomas McLamb Jr. “Little Mac” who all love her a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck and inevitably will always love her more.
The Family will receive friends on Friday November, 12, 2021, from 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be follow at 12 Noon at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Garlon Vick officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery.
