Arelina Norris McLeod, age 82 of Willie McLeod Lane, Dunn, died Monday, November 1, 2021 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.
Arelina was born on July 24, 1939 in Harnett County the daughter of the late Carlie T. Norris and Cherry Lena Tyndall Norris and is preceded in death by her first husband, James Willie McLeod. She is also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Wayne McLeod, a daughter, Cherry Leigh Ngamthnglor, a sister, Doris Blaylock and brothers, William Paul Norris and Silas Edward Norris.
Arelina retired from the Harnett County School System with 33 years of teaching “Special Needs Children.” After her retirement she did sales selling jewelry, Christmas around the World and many other things. Her family said she was a born salesman and probably could talk you into buying anything.
She was a very active member of Lee’s Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where she taught sunday school and was active in the Women’s Auxiliary. She was considered to be an “Ambassador for Christ.”
She was a great wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother as well as a wonderful homemaker. She wore many hats in her lifetime raising her family, being active in Church, and being a fulltime teacher. She always had a smile on her face and had a great sense of humor.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Lee’s Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Beasley and Rev. Keith Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery.
She is survived by: her husband: Nelson T. Soto of the home.
Sons: James Mitchell McLeod & (wife) Janet and Willie Shawn McLeod & (wife) Shauna both of Dunn, NC
Daughters: Rebecca Jones of Dunn, NC; Rhonda Skipper & (husband) David of Coats, NC and Emma Jean Johnson and (husband) Kenneth of Kernersville, NC.
Grandchildren: Johnny, Jamie, Trinity, Jonathan, Ryan, Toni, Dale, Josh, Matt, Crystal, Justin, Autumn, Ashley, Brandi, Morgan, Sarah and Marlina.
23 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
Sisters: Linda Allen and Mae Matthews both of Erwin, NC.
The family will receive friends, Friday, November 5, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
