She was born on December 26, 1958, in Highsmith-Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville, NC to the late Joel Faison Lee and Izetta Reginia Frix Lee.
She was a loving, selfless wife, mother, sister, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own and treated her family as the most important facet of her life. She enjoyed the company of her dog “Trouble” and loved him as he did her.
Angela enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful things in a peaceful setting. Earlier in her life, she created her own beauty while expressing her artistic talents through painting and drawing. She often watched the birds at her birdfeeder among her many gorgeous flowers and charming wind spinners as she listened to the calming sounds of her windchimes.
She loved both the beach and the mountains, especially exploring Pigeon Forge and wandering through Cades Cove to take in the sights of its unspoiled landscapes and freely roaming wildlife. Closer to home, her enthusiasm for spotting deer in her own backyard would bring a smile to her face.
Above all else, Angela was loved and will always be missed.
Angela is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Brookie Lyn Barefoot, of their home; one son, Willie Joel Barefoot, of Dunn, NC; one sister, Joy Elaine Lee, of Dunn, NC.
The Barefoot family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Barefoot Cemetery in Sampson County.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still missed, still loved and very dear.”
