Wilma Stokely

Wilma Hazel (Rusty) Mauldin Stokely, 93, died peacefully on June 26th. She was a loving wife, mother, and registered nurse. She was born March 27, 1921, in Albermarle, North Carolina. She was a graduate of Albermarle High School. She attended Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC. She served as a US Army nurse during WWII, where she met and married her husband, Ed Stokely. They were happily married for 62 years. She returned the love of being a working nurse several times while raising a family. She was an avid gardener, and a golfer. Rusty was a role model for kindness, caring, and nurturing to all who knew her. She was the wife of Edwin E Stokely, who preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by five children, Patricia Krogmann, Linda Susan Stokely, John Edwin Stokely, Sarah Judith Nann Stokely, and David Cleveland Stokely.
