She was born in Howe, Indiana, and moved to Florida in the 1970’s.
Velma was a Chief Telephone Operator at the Champaign Telephone Company in Urbana, Ohio for over 25 years.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, (Ohio), Soroptomists Womens Club, and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Dunedin.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Lawrence in 1970.
She is survived by her son, Charles Lawrence of Dunedin; grandson, Darren Lawrence; great-grandsons, Joshua Patten, Justen Patten, Jessie Lawrence;great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace Lawrence; numerous nieces and nephews.
