Nona C. Revell, age 84, of Clearwater, Florida, passed on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Brookside Hospice House in Palm Harbor. Nona was born in Madison, Florida. She attended FSU and USF where she graduated with a Masters in Library Science.
She retired after 28 years with Pinellas County Schools where she was a beloved teacher and librarian.
Nona loved to read classic stories to the children and made the stories come alive by wearing period costumes as she read.
Following retirement, she worked for her daughter and son-in-law at Noel Industries for over 25 years.
Nona was a long-time ABWA member, Clearwater Evening Lions Club member,
long-time member of North Dunedin Baptist Church and, formerly, Skycrest Baptist Church.
Nona loved children. She was lovingly known as "Mom" by many of her children's friends; she was always eager to offer a home-cooked meal and place to stay. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.
Nona was blessed with one grandson, Logan Colburn Revell, who was given her maiden name (Colburn) as a family legacy.
Nona enjoyed life and was a blessing to all who knew her. She was an avid fan of Nascar (especially Jeff Gordon), football (especially FSU) and loved her children's pets.
She is survived by her husband, James Sr.of 64 years; sons, James Jr.(Sherry) Revell of Bedford, Virginia; Donnie (Melody) Revell of Bloomingdale, Georgia; daughter, Cheryl (Chris) Noell of Ozona, Florida and grandson, Logan Revell of Bloomingdale, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, Nona would love donations in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
