She passed away peacefully after a 12-year courageous battle against Breast Cancer. Mary was truly an inspiration to all who knew her, as she remained positive, and fought with determination, grace and beauty throughout her battle.
Mary was born in Lockport, New York and moved to Safety Harbor in1998.
She was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, where she served in the Hospitality Ministry for twelve years. Mary was a Beacon of Light to all who knew her. She had a beautiful Christian spirit and was a loving and caring person.
Mary was a graduate of Bloomsburg University of PA forging a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. However, her most important career choice was being a Mom! As well, she loved all sports especially football and NASCAR. She had a passion for collegiate marching bands, hand bags, clothes, and her Irish heritage!
Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Richard, her loving son, Kevin, sister, Dr. Sue Malin (Denis) of Woolrich, PA, and sister-in-law, Joanne Cordaro of Safety Harbor. A brother, John M. McCarthy survives in Lockport, NY. Mary was the loving and loyal daughter to the late Thelma K. and Robert K. McCarthy of Lockport, NY and Muncy, PA. Mary will be missed by countless friends and special oncology patients, nurses and physicians.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, located at 2405 Philippe Pkwy in Safety Harbor on Friday, November 12th at 11:00 AM. The inurnment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery
