John Lewis MacIsaac, 68, of Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada passed away early Thursday morning, November 21, 2013, after battling cancer at a local hospital in Clearwater, FL. A loving husband, Lewis (as he was known to most) leaves behind his wife, Linda Doucette MacIsaac. He was a loving father of their three children, David (41), Todd (38) and Glen (35) whom he raised in Arlington, MA. Lew was adored by his three grandchildren, Aiden (6), Liam (6), and Kelsey (4). In addition to being a caring husband, devoted father, and treasured grandfather, Lewis was a loving son, loyal brother, and amazing friend to countless people. He was the son of Duncan Alex and Mary (Smiler) Margaret MacDonald of Canada, and he was the fifth of their 6 children. There has been an irreplaceable void left in the MacIsaac family.
Lewis was born September 27, 1945. He was raised in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada but was a free spirit who loved to travel. Lewis worked for years as a laborer working all over Canada, as well as coast to coast of the United States, working as a union tunnel-worker most of his days. Lewis will be forever missed by all that knew him and if you knew Lewis you were truly blessed. Lew was the epitome of all that is kind and good, and he greeted everyone with his twinkling eyes and welcoming smile. He was fun, optimistic, and truly embraced life. That infectious and genuine laugh unique to Lew will never be forgotten.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated during “Inverness Days,” 21-28 July 2014 in Inverness Nova Scotia (details to follow). In lieu of flowers, the family requests a simple story, memory, and/or picture you have of Lew to be posted on the “Lew’s Legacy” Facebook Page to keep his legacy alive forever, and also will be used during his Celebration of Life party in Canada this summer.
