Cook, Isabel, 84 of Dunedin, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Feb. 3, 2013. She was a proud and active resident of Dunedin for the past 43 years. She was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and volunteered at church, various hospitals and extended care facilities. Her hobbies included reading, playing cards, cooking, and mentoring her grandchildren. She had a passion for watching old movies and attending both professional and amateur musicals and plays.
She was the proud matriarch of her family and was well-known as the type of person who developed deep friendships with everyone she encountered. She was known as someone who was there to help no matter the problem, large or small. She was the kind of person that would rather help others than to ask for assistance. Even up to her final day, Isabel was busy making sure that everyone around her was taken care of and admonishing those around her not to worry. A spirit of giving was all Isabel ever knew.
She is survived by her sister Wilma Sproul; sons, Jerry and Jim; daughters, Sheryl and Debra; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grand children; and Maggie her cat. A memorial service will be 11am, Saturday, Feb. 9th at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Michigan Ave., Dunedin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Pinellas County, 3040 Florida 590, Clearwater, FL 33759.
