Peacefully, with family by his side, on Friday July 26, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Adoring husband of Frances for 59 years. Beloved father of David (Rev.), Gord (Janice), Karen Lavell (Michael), Susan Moulden (Patrick), John (Vivian), Rob (Sonia), Brian (Elise). Wonderful grandpa to Jonathan, Jodie, Cheryl, Stephen, James, Lori, Shannon, Kelly, Michael, Jonah, Annie, Rachael, Calvin and Maddy. Predeceased by his sister Marion (Phil). Fondly remembered by his surviving siblings Fred (Grace), Morgan (Mary), Helen and his many nieces and nephews. A passionate teacher, gardener, athlete (lacrosse, hockey) and choralist. Longest serving member of the Cathedral Choir (51 years). A true gentleman and a tough competitor, Wendell (Uncle Joe) was a great dad and an example to us all. Visitation will take place at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Tuesday, July 30 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Cathedral of Christ the King, 714 King Street West, Hamilton on Wednesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster.
