He has been reunited with his beloved wife, Shirley, who predeceased him in 2012. Roy was the cherished father of Charlene, Len, and Kelly, and a devoted grandfather to Laicie (Karl), Kyle, Ryan (Kaylyn), Deakin, and Kaymen. He was a proud great-grandfather to Kacey, Lincoln, and Hazel. Roy is survived by his brother, Ken, and sisters Bev (Wayne), Carol, and Diane. He was predeceased by his siblings Sonny, Norma, Ron, Vern, Moe, and Judy. Roy will be deeply missed by his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A gifted athlete, Roy was renowned for his achievements as a legendary fastball pitcher in the Big Four Fastball League, winning numerous championships throughout the 1950s, 60s and early 70’s. He also excelled in hockey, playing on the 1957 and 1958 Dundas Mountainview Dairy Intermediate “B” OHA Championship teams. After a dedicated career with Ontario Hydro, Roy embraced retirement, finding joy on the golf course and in his garden.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Roy’s life on Sunday, December 8, 2024 | 1pm - 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 36 - 280 King St. W., Dundas, ON.
