Mary Yvonne Scott

It is with grief and sadness that we announce Mary’s passing after a brief and courageous battle with cancer at St. Peter’s Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of 91.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas James (Jim) Scott (predeceased 1989). Loving mother to Susan Presta (Angelo). Proud and deeply cherished Nana of Sarra Presta. Predeceased by her parents Susan Eleanor Wooland and Harold Wooland, and all her siblings Gwen Harris, Eileen Morden, Peggy Belfry, Gladys Bernard, Horace Wooland, Harry Wooland, and Jeanne Reid. Family and devoted friends meant everything to Mary throughout her entire life, she cherished them all. Mary’s one and only granddaughter Sarra was the light and love of her life, and Sarra brought her Nana so much joy, laughter, and happiness every day. Mary is loved and will be sadly missed by all her family, including many nieces and nephews, and her dear friends. A special thank you to the nursing staff at St. Peter’s for the extraordinary care and compassion shown to Mary.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Marlatt Funeral Home “Family Centre” (next to the Funeral Home), 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Donations, in her memory, may be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre (research), or the Cancer Assistance Program.
