Born in Montreal, on July 28, 1937, Marion Louise Duthie, the daughter of William Falding Duthie and Marion Houliston Duthie, passed away on June 2, 2015. She is survived by her brother Robert Wilson Duthie, nephews, Graham Stuart Duthie and Andrew William Duthie, and cousins John, Hugh and Jimmy Duthie, Phyllis Manning, Mary Adamson, and Geoffrey Sanders. Louise graduated from McGill University and was employed as a dietician at Ryerson University. Later she moved to Hamilton for a food service position at McMaster retiring to become an entrepreneur and owner of a yarn shop in downtown Dundas. After closing the shop she continued weaving, knitting and beading. Some of her work was sold in the Carnegie Gallery. Louise loved to travel and visited just about every continent over the years. A memorial service is planned to be held in July in Galt. Her ashes will be buried at the Mount Royal Cemetery in a family plot beside her mother and father.
