He was born on December 3, 1928, in Hamilton, Ontario, to Diego and Antonia (nee Campanella) Rallo. He married Louise Holwerda on November 12, 1949, and worked as a police officer and detective for the Hamilton Police Department, including years as a patrolling officer on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a loving father to daughter Patricia and son Joseph (Joanne Gaul). He adored his grandchildren Dustin (Ciara Day) and Rebecca (Daniel Strang) and great-grandchildren Macauley and Brooke Strang. He was a friend to everyone and was known for lending a helping hand to anyone at any hour. He loved his son’s cottage in Manitoba, visiting for many summers and passing on his vast knowledge and building skills to his son and his grandson.
He was predeceased by his wife Louise, daughter Patricia, parents Dick and Anne, siblings Lillian, Mary, Isabelle, Jack, and Frank. He leaves behind son Joe, brother Charlie, companion Joan Macartney, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Final resting place in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington. A service is not planned, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Knights of Columbus or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
