So sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences with the passing of your father. I hope you all feel some comfort recounting wonderful memories together.

These pictures, beyond evidence of a life well lived, have taken me (and the older Reed “kids”) way back. A much simpler time, with summers and weekends spent in each others’ backyards, the field and its many forts and, of course, the alley. 

Watching BTO on the Swan's black and white TV in their backyard, SWORB Olympics, mocking Colleen for being a “Sunday driver” on her bike in the alley, and countless hours together. 

We played and played, safe in the knowledge that Mr. Swan’s whistle would call us all home for supper. 

Rest easy Mr. Swan, you were a big part of all of our Hatt Street childhoods. 

Andrew, Jeannette and family. My thoughts are with you today. May the memories of your Dad give you peace.

Andrew and family,
Tom and I were sorry to hear of your father’s passing. Our sincere condolences to you and your family. 

Uncle Harry always had a wonderful smile and loved to make you laugh. I have such fond memories of our family trips to visit Uncle Harry Aunt Margaret, Steve, Andrew and Susan.  Us cousins had lots fun with sleep overs in the basement and I’m sure the adults had just as much fun up stairs. Uncle Harry always said I was the rose between 2  thorns as my birthday was between him and Uncle George in the month of May. 
My sincere condolences to Aunt Margaret, Steve, Andrew,Susan and all the grandkids. He has left a lasting memory in my life and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace

Susan and Andrew: 
26 Hatt Street and "the alley" figure so prominently in my childhood memories. Like Colleen, I also remember your dad's whistle (or my mom's handbell) signaling supper time. I remember your dad throwing chalk to us (AT us??) from the train (TH&B: "To Hell and Back"). We were just talking about the SWORB Olympics (thanks Steven and Bodie Bragg (?) for organizing!). 
I remember eating a meal at your house, Susan, and your dad was laughing so hard about something that a noodle from his chicken noodle soup came right out of his nose! Remember that?!?! 
In my memories, your dad was fun and funny and welcoming to all us kids. Maturing into his Kenny Rogers looks was just the icing on the cake. Haha!
Losing a parent is such a profound loss. Thinking of you all, and hugs to Mrs. Swan, Steven, Andrew, and Susan and your families.

There are very few gentlemen in this world but Harry Swan was the true epitome of a gentle man.  Good night  and God Bless ‘darlin’. Heartfelt  condolences  to Margaret and the family.

I will never forget Mr. Swan’s loud whistle —fingers in mouth “woo-wit” and his kids calling “cuhhhh- ming” and heading in for dinner. Throwing us chalk from the train and tooting the train whistle as his engine passed our house. Many great TH&B and Hatt Street memories! He was always so nice to us neighborhood kids!
