James William Pritchett, 77 passed away February 9, 2019. He was the youngest of 5 children born in Dallas, TX on May 20, 1941 to James Lynn and Clorine Gladys Pritchett. He attended South Oak Cliff High School and served in the military where he was stationed in both California and Okinawa. After serving he returned home and became a Police Officer for the Grand Prairie Police Department where he was known as the "red headed cop". After law enforcement he went back to California where he helped friends in the music industry. He later returned home to take care of his parents. He was a loving father to his adopted daughter, Jessica Clorine Yeager and was known for his endless love and support to all family and friends. Known to friends as "Jim" or "The Captain" he enjoyed spending his days working his parking lot at the Dallas State Fair or hanging out with friends at the Duncanville VFW Post 7843. Jim is survived by his daughter, Jessica; 2 sisters, Joy Hitchcock and Sadie Nutting; 2 sister in law's, Barbara and Betty Pritchett; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Billy and Kenneth Pritchett; and 2 brother in laws, Jim Hitchcock and Ray Nutting. James was a very giving person and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, February 14, 2019 and Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 15, 2019 at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home with interment to follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
