Our Mom, Dorothy Bell Edwards, was born in Bastrop, TX on March 14, 1935 to Walter Jackson Edwards and Annie Richter. Mom passed away in her home in Midlothian, TX on October 25, 2019 at 84 years of age. She married Bobby Burton Henderson on July 2, 1954 in McLennan County. They lived in Waco, TX for several years before moving to Duncanville, TX. She lived in Duncanville until around 2007 after which she moved to Midlothian, TX. Mom worked for Ben Franklin Warehouse until its closing. She took her retirement at 62 years of age. Then, she worked part time for the Duncanville Independent School District in the lunchroom as well as being a Crossing Guard at Hastings Elementary. She enjoyed helping the children get safely across the street before and after school. When the holidays came around, some of the children would give her gifts which she truly enjoyed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Roy Edwards, a sister, Annie Bell Lewis, and a daughter, Retha Jean Henderson. She is survived by a son: Bobby Henderson and wife Kat of Palmer, TX, daughters: Linda Jumper of Midlothian, TX and Vickey Fritz and husband Ed of Monett, Mo. Grandchildren: James Taylor of Tool, TX, Daniel Henderson of OR, Christie Hershey and husband Jake of Ranger, TX, Carissa Bolen and husband Ken of Marysville, Oh, Stephanie Moten and husband Joseph of Menifee, Ca, Jimmy Jumper and partner Randi of Midlothian, TX, Christopher Cappleman, Matthew and Laura Henderson of Duncanville, TX, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.
