We miss you Dave, godfather, the sultan, swollen, swollen humphead (Private joke) and daddy!  Many names, many said with love.

Dave left way too soon.  I met him through one of his best friends George Marchelos.  My first impression of him was that he would make a great actor in mobster movies.   He had a BIG personality and was a wickedly funny guy.  He had a big heart!   When George and Dave came together, they fed off each other's humor and personalities.   I always ended up in tears with laughter.  

The last time I spoke to him was when I was still living California.  We chatted for a little while - it was good to speak to him.  That was nearly six years ago.  I left a long lasting impression.  R.I.P.  my friend.

Dear Friends and family,  
I met Dave in college in 1974 (46 yrs ago) at Queensbrough Community College in Bayside NY.   At that same time I also met George Marchellos.   We all became very good and close friends.  Dave was very unique in that he would always have a funny thing to say that resulted in laughter that made us feel great.   We had a lot in common; martial arts, cars, cloths, disco music, clubs, dinners, parties and great moments together.  Dave was a very smart guy that loved technology / people and was an expert at fixing an 8240 washing machine size disk drive for Motorola / Four Phase.  He took me under his wing and helped me get my start at Motorola.  The 3 of use worked for the same firm in the Wall Street area.   We all moved to other firms and states but always stayed in touch no matter what.   I called Dave perhaps 2 or 3 times a month to say hello, hear his voice and good jokes.  He was like a brother.  I would value his support and positive outlook.   Dave was a person that could always make you laugh but could also express his true feelings;  telling me he loved me like a brother.   I will miss Dave very much but  know that God has a safe, peaceful and comfortable place in Haven for him.  I’ll always cherish the great fun times, memoires of a true leader and legend. David and I shared many years together in the late 70’s and 80’s. We shared an apartment in Yonkers for a few years. He was a friend you could not wait to see. He was a friend that you never wanted to
Leave. He was energetic, full of life and a real positive way about him. You could really have good clean fun with Dave. He will always be in my heart and mind for a piece of him belongs to me. I hope to meet him again when I transfer out. May he Rest In Peace. Dave had a tough life. Doesn’t matter why. Dave I love you wherever you are. 

Dave, we're still in shock.I will never forget your hilarious conversations, your wit and yet your deep tender inside, but especially we will never forget you, Boloney Dave, nor how you got that nickname.The nightstand still has bologna marks on it. This was not easy to write. You were my favorite Uncle and we were so close. Even after you moved to Texas we still kept in touch. You would tell me I was the only family you had contact with and I felt blessed for that. So many memories. But I will always remember you waking me up out of a dead sleep in the middle of the night so that we can spar. Between that and being in the Porsche as you floored it on the open road. You always had a way of making any time we spent together exhilarating. My life will not be the same without you. But it wouldn't have been as good without you either.


Happy Birthday in Heaven David.   You left way too soon and before I mailed your birthday card.  I hope you are enjoying your birthday with your family and friends who went before you and that you are at peace.  We met many years ago ... my life was transitioning and you helped me so very much.  You were so happy for me when I found a good job and helped me buy the first car I ever bought on my own.   We had so much fun in those days sometimes doing absolutely nothing.  We laughed so very much and drove around in your Porsche to so many places.  I so enjoyed sharing Amaretto and cappuccino with you.  You were quite a character.  You always called me "the Contessa" LOL.   Glad we reconnected 10 years ago and that Bob had a chance to meet you.  You had a kind heart and I know you went straight to heaven.  You will be missed and always remembered.  


I think this was 1985 or so.  Dave could hold that leg out for ever.

Where do I begin?  David was my best friend for 45 years and barely a week went by when we didn't talk.  Here's a picture of David, our mutual friend John and me on the far right with the hard rock T-shirt in Italy when Dave and I went there together busy John.  

I have so many stories I can share there is enough room on this website for them all.  Dave was a very fun loving person and we lived together for three years when we are in our 20s.  The problem with living with David was that he would love to hide in a closet, behind a wall, in the bathroom so you would think he wasn't home and when you least expected it he would jump out and scare the crap out of you.

What I wouldn't give to relive those days again.  I really miss my friend more than I can say.

Dave I'll never forget the night we met at Harpers you were there with George.  We shared a lot of laughs over those early years..and you were always a great dancer my friend...I will meet you on that big dance floor in the clouds when my time comes..so save me a dance or two...miss you...RIP my friend..

David, thank you for being an influence in my martial arts journey. You set me back on the path.

We are going to miss you, Karl will miss  you a bunch more. God bless you and please don't beat up anyone in heaven! Ha ha ha ...sigh! Bye Sifu

Rest In Peace David. You were such a good friend to Karl, more like a brother.  I hope you and Paul are catching up, and until we meet again we will hold on to the memories. 🙏🏼🕊
