July 22nd, 1943-September 14th, 2010.
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Girard. He leaves behind a family and friends deeply touched by his loss, but cherishing their many memories of such a wonderful man.
Ron is survived by his parents Marcel Girard and Gladys Hoadley, his loving wife Lynn, children Yvonne (Mark), Daunene (Sam) and Barry (Julie). Grandchildren Krista, Brandi, Curtis, Cameron, Nick, Jordanne, Kate and his brothers Barry (Gwen) and Mark (Joanne).
Ron was raised in Victoria where he met and married the love of his life Lynn. He went to work as a truck driver for Chevron until his retirement. He was a wonderful soccer coach and President for many years for JDF Soccer Association. After his retirement he moved to Lake Cowichan where he built a home on the lake and fulfilled his dream of building a pub (The Rails End) where he could display his model toy train collection. After his restaurant venture, his passion for golf took him to Marsh Meadows where he could found many days a week. Many will remember him at the course for the 51/2 hole.
Poppa will be especially missed by his grandchildren for his animated stories and of course “the ear bean”.
You will be sadly missed and fondly remembered in our hearts forever. We Love You !
Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, Duncan, BC.
