Gertrud Pauline Hayden

Gertrud Pauline Hayden, 75, of Duncan BC, passed away on the morning of December 15th, 2023 at Cairnsmore Place, Duncan, after a long battle with dementia. “Gerti” was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy, and her parents Alois and Maria Munzer, and is survived by her brothers Siegfried and Erich, and her sister-in-law “Bunny”. Her cheerful personality, selflessness, and friendly smile will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family.

Gerti had a deep love of the outdoors, loved to go camping, enjoyed skiing until health issues forced her to quit, and embraced golfing until recently. She also loved to travel - nearly ran out of room on the fridge with magnets from all the places she visited.

We wish to thank the care providers at Glengarry Hospital in Victoria and Cairnsmore Place for their loving care in her final months.

Gerti requested no service or flowers. She supported numerous charities, particularly Crohn’s disease, cancer, the SPCA, and the Salvation Army. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
