Allan passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children on July 22, 2017 at the age of 89.
Al was born in Canwood, Saskatchewan in 1928 and arrived in Duncan in 1947. He met the love of his life, Elsa, in Lake Cowichan, where they were married. They spent 42 years by each others side. He is predeceased by his wife Elsa, daughter Betty and son Rick.
He leaves behind his brother Bert, nephew Eric (Susanne), his children Diane (Gary), Gary (Tammy), Cheryl (Mike), Sandy (Brian), Judy (Phillip), 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
We would like to thank Dr. Sanders, Dr. Pewarchuck, and all of those who lovingly cared for him in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cowichan Cat Rescue would be appreciated. A service will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 375 Brae Road, Duncan, BC, with a tea to follow in the Memorial Hall.
