Shirley Marie Barber

Shirley Marie Barber, 90, of Proctor passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born January 12, 1927 to Elder and Genevieve Plaisted in Duluth.

Shirley had a servant’s heart and was always volunteering to help everyone. She enjoyed quilting, going to her family cabin, and going to rummage sales. She was a very active, longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her daughter, Nancy (Ron) Stanius of Esko and son, Rod (Bonnie) Barber of Duluth; grandchildren, Gretchen Maslowski of Esko, Brian (Krista) Barber of Cloquet, Jen Barber of Duluth, and Anna (David) Huisinger of Cloquet; great-grandchildren, Ella Barber of Duluth, Jenna Maslowski of Esko, Logan Maslowski of Esko, and Noelle Barber of Cloquet; brothers, Russell (Dorothy) Plaisted of Cloquet and Gerry Plaisted of Apache Junction, AZ; and her very special “other” family, The Robillards.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 701 3rd Ave., Proctor. Inurnment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
