Russell T. Lind, age 71, passed away on June 6, 2016 at Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors, Minnesota, surrounded by family and friends. Russ was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota on July 2, 1944 to Roy and Pearl (Hill) Lind.
He graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1962 and attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth. During his high school summers he worked on the Hanus's farm in Minnetonka, Minnesota. He worked construction his whole life, and his career spanned many years on multiple projects throughout the northland. Russ married Christine Carlson at Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa, Minnesota on July 23, 1977. They were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors, Minnesota.
He was a longtime member of the local Laborers Union in Duluth and the Lake Superior Steelhead Association, as fishing was one of his biggest passions.
Russ loved spending time with his large family, especially his grandchildren. He could always be found in the garden pulling weeds, picking blueberries, and harvesting the vegetables. His gardening, fishing, and hunting skills all contributed to his great abilities as a cook. His wry humor could always bring a smile to anyone's face.
Russ is preceded in death by his wife, Chris of 35 years; his parents; brother, Merlen; and sister, Susie Oney.
He is survived by his children, Scott and Beth; grandchildren Evan, Jacob, Alexis, and Mazie; siblings, LeRoger, Ronnie, Warren, Joann, Donna, Diane, and Mike; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service Saturday, June 11th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Two Harbors.
