Richard Vernon Thoreson

Dick graduated from Duluth Central in 1946, after graduating he served in the United States Navy for 2 years. After serving his country he went back to school graduating at UMD in 1953 with a bachelor’s degree.

He took early retirement in 1985, working for over 32 years for Minnesota Power.

Dick enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending his summers at the family cabin on Spooner Lake in Spooner, WI. Dick was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Superior.

Dick will be greatly missed by his wife, Dorothy of Duluth; sister, Dorothy Green of East Grand Forks; brother, Howard of Duluth; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in Superior with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
