Olga was born in October of 1916 in Palisade, MN to Bendick and Rachel Grimsbo.
She graduated from the Grand Rapids High School in 1934 and attended Duluth State Teachers College. Soon after her graduation, she taught in two one room schools, first at Malmo, MN and then at Bell Horn Bay, MN. On June 8, 1941 Olga and James Howard Robinson were married at her parents' home in rural Palisade. She was a homemaker raising a son and five daughters on a farm at Burnett, MN. In 1960, Olga went back to teaching as a substitute teacher, and as a full time teacher at Caribou Lake Elementary from 1961-1984 during which time she completed her BA degree at UMD. She threw down her snow shovel and moved to Gramercy Park in Duluth in 2000 where she lived until moving to Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living in November 2009. She was a member of Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, and had been active with Lutheran volunteers, and the Afternoon Guild of LWML while a member of the Lutheran Church of
Christ the King. She was also a member of the Proctor Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband James; her son Eugene; three sisters, Ann Will, Hilda Nordstrom, and Emma Boe; two brothers, Daniel and Nils Grimsbo.
Olga is survived by her daughters, Ruth (Richard) Robertz of Hermantown, Ann (Lionel) Blaido of Ft. Worth, Texas, Carol (Bror-Gustav) Heikkinen of Flower Mound, Texas, Diana (Jeff) Gilbertson of Duluth, and Rita (Mel) Opp of Burnsville; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand daughter; three sisters, Ruth Lofgren, Clara Pearson, and Rachel Lund; three brothers, Peter, Olaf and John Grimsbo; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 am until the 11 am Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Peace In Christ Lutheran Church, 5007 Maple Grove Rd., Duluth, with Pastor Tim Ludwig officiating. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Peace in Christ Lutheran Church or Essentia Hospice
