Mary was born on February 15, 1920 in Lojki, Poland to Bronislaw and Helena Miltakis.
She came to America with her husband, Vincent, at the age of 18. After WWII, Mary spent the next few years tracking down and registering her siblings and their families to bring them from Poland to America. Four of those families now live in New York and another in Duluth, MN.
Mary was an avid gardener, planting both vegetables and flowers. She also raised chickens, rabbits, and ducks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent and brother, John Miltakis.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Angeline “Angie” (Roy) Olson; son, John (Linda) Jablonski; grandchildren, Steven (Donna) Olson, Kathy Olson Sutherland, Craig (Jackie) Olson, Mark (Jodie) Olson, Suellen Vordenbruggen, John Jablonski Jr., Paula (Jeff) Clancey, Jason Jablonski, Jill (Greg) Anderson; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; her siblings in New York, Henry (Mary) Miltakis, Antoni Miltakis, Chester (Helena) Miltakis, and Yadsia Dabkowski; and sister-in-law, Irene Miltakis.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N 56th Ave W, in Duluth.
A private family interment will take place Monday, April 15 at the Polish Catholic Cemetery in Duluth.
