She was born in Hibbing, MN on July 25, 1924 to Samuel and Aileen (Pavola) Hultman.
Margret was raised in Duluth where she graduated from Denfeld High School in 1943. She enlisted in the Army in 1944, serving in the Military Intelligence Division at the Pentagon during World War II.
On May 24, 1947 she was united in marriage, at her family homestead, to Wallace C. Halverson. While raising four children, she also worked as a cashier at the Pickwick and for many years as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 71 and the All American Club Auxiliary.
Margret enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, cross word puzzles, and taking care of her beautiful home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wallace; parents; her brothers, John, Everett, and Arnold; and her sister, Mary.
Margret is survived by her children Steve (Linda) of New Brighton, MN, Philip (Rita) of Gilbert, AZ, Debra (Thomas) Miller of Duluth, Peggy (Randy) Lundgren of Duluth; nine grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; sister, May Graves; as well as many other family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice for the exceptional care given to Margret.

Visitation: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 27 at Bell Brothers Jarvi-Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E 4th Street, in Duluth.
