Lucille “Lou” Marian Swanson, 96, of Saginaw went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. She was born on March 18, 1921 to Gustav and Charlotta Wahlberg in Duluth.
Lucille was a fantastic Seamstress and previously worked as a supervisor at North Shore Manufacturing. She also waitressed and bartended. She loved being around people and had a witty personality, friendly smile, and kind heart. She loved to cook and entertain her friends and family. Lucille was a member of Forbes UMC, past member of women of the Moose, VFW, and American Legion.
Lou was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin T. Nelson; second husband, Ernest S. Swanson; sister; Clerry; brother, Richard; and great-grandson, Bryce.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Terry Nelson of Eagan, MN; daughters, Karen (Bradley) Sosebee of Chatsworth, Ga, Jean (Bill) Briski of North Las Vegas, NV, Donna (Dave Moore) Wiseman of Saginaw, MN, Sandee (Larry) Isaccson of Clearfield, UT; step-son, John; step-daughters, Maryann and Terri; sisters, Charlotte Caywood , Helen Wasserburger, and Eleanor Roland; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove Street, Proctor. A reception will follow in the church basement. Inurnment will be in Augustana Cemetery at a later date.
