Laura Elizabeth Larson

Laura was raised in Hermantown and went to the Hermantown School. She was a hard worker and helped out on the family farm until starting her career for the First American National Bank as an elevator operator. Later she waitressed for many other restaurants, including the Spalding Hotel in The Grand Ballroom where she had the opportunity to serve Bob Hope.

In her lifetime she raised four children and continued her career in dietary / laundry for St. Luke’s Hospital.

Laura enjoyed spending time gardening, baking, cross stitching, fishing, and feeding the small animals on the back porch. One of her favorite past times also included sitting on the porch listening to the Twins game.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bertil, Dora, Olga, Hilda, Erick, and infant sister Maria.

Laura will be greatly missed by her children, David (Wendy) Larson of Duluth, Robert (Cheryl) Larson of Duluth, Nancy (Allan) Preston of Duluth, and Charles Larson of New Hampshire; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and brother, Wilbert Erickson of Duluth.

Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1505 Eklund Avenue, Duluth. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery, Hermantown. Please leave a memory of Laura or words of support for the family at www.bellbrothersjarvidowd.com .
