John N. Chiovitti, 76, of West Duluth passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1941 to John and Mary Chiovitti in Duluth.
John served in the Marines for 4 years at Camp Pendleton and Okinawa. He worked as a long shoreman for his entire career retiring in Duluth.
He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed being a member of his local Corvette club. He was also a member of the American Legion and the International Longshoremen's Association.
John will be greatly missed by his sisters, Mary (Edward) McCue, Clara (Gerry) Shaw, Cecelia Riedl, and Dr. Marguerite (Don) Podgorsek; brother, Thomas Chiovitti; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Friday, March 9, 2018 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N 56th Ave. West. Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
