Jan was a passionate teacher, volunteer coordinator, journalist, editor, columnist, poet, author, food shelf manager, civil right activist, speaker, and Christian servant. Jan is devoted in her relationship with God, speaking to Him daily from her sanctuary on the shore of Little Grand Lake. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Children's laughter, a bird's call, the sounds of water, or one of Rick's machines were her favorite sounds.
Jan will be remembered for her laugh, her faith in God, and her love of people. Her legacy is love and she left it for all of us.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Ann Fairley. Jan is survived by her husband, Rick Fleischauer, her brothers, Jim Fairley (Martha), Jon Fairley, her children Ross Fleischauer (Chastity), Amanda Onnen (Paul), Teresa Hughes (Derek), Tim Fleischauer, Tammy Fleischauer, Todd Fleischauer, Tonia Bastyr, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many loved ones.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 23 in Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove St., Proctor. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 with visitation one hour prior in the church.
