He was born on February 9, 1946 to parents, Herb Sr. and Elsie Schuman.
On October 30, 1965, Herb was united in marriage to Darlene Miller. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Cristie.
Herb was an Iron worker for many years and later worked for Duluth Steel Fabricators. He then became an independent truck driver for many years, finally settling at Jeff Foster Trucking, as head of the tanker division.
Herb loved hunting, steelhead fishing, and socializing with people. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Herb will be sadly missed by his friends and family, and his little dog, Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vonnie.
Herb is survived by his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Darlene; daughter, Cristie (Steve) Bergerson; son, Michael (Kelli) Schuman; sisters, Laurie Gustafson, Bobbie (Don) Setterquist, and Dava (Botts) Williams; brothers, Bob Lippert and Bill (Ruby) Jacobson; grandchildren, Ben, Joe, Shelby, and Skylar; special brother-in-laws, Tom and Dave Miller; special sister-in-law, Bonnie Talarico; many nieces and nephews; and his extended family at Jeff Foster Trucking.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, May 10 in Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N 56th Ave W, in Duluth, and continue Friday, May 11 from 10 am until the 11 am Funeral Service at Bell Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
