Glenna Ellen Berndt

Glenna was born in Tipler, WI on September 25, 1931 to Sheridan and Darcus (Gayhart) Wells. Glenna had a true caregiver nature and worked for many years as a Nurses Aid at Lake Haven and Lakeshore Lutheran Nursing Home - where she retired from in 1992. After retiring, Glenna enjoyed traveling with her husband, Lester, in their fifth wheel but her favorite place to be was at their cabin, fishing along side her husband. She also enjoyed working crosswords and betting on the football boards. She made the best fudge ever and loved to bake. Her Grandchildren will always remember making Christmas cookies with her. She treasured her family and the time she spent with them. She will be deeply missed.

Glenna is preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Sidney, Vernon, Paul and Clifford; 3 sisters, Cassie, Norma and Clarine; and a longtime friend, Mae Wold.

Glenna is survived by her loving husband, Lester "Red"; 6 children, Fred (Sue) Tjaden of Mukwanago, WI, Bonnie (Carl) Sherman of Eau Claire, WI, Donald (Mary Bergeson) Tjaden of Menomonie, WI, Marvel (Terry) McEwen of Esko, MN, Nora (David) Mahlberg of Duluth, MN and Glenn (Tina) Tjaden of Duluth, MN; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her step-children, Kathy Berndt of Springbrook, WI, Randy (Betty) Berndt of Superior, WI, Marilyn (Roger) Paske of Spooner, WI, Susie Hansen of Rib Lake, WI and Scott (Nancy) Berndt of Coon Rapids, MN; 15 step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who referred to her as "Aunt Gurdy"; a lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Marge Wells of Tipler, WI as well as many other extended family members.

A family service will be held in Glenna's home town of Tipler, WI at a later date.
